Did you know that… In the locality of Nuppolara in the municipality of Papasidero (CS), in the Mercure Valley, there is the Grotta del Romito, a site dating back to Upper Paleolithic containing one of the most ancient testimonies of art prehistoric in Italy , is one of the most important in Europe?
The most important rock engraving in the cave is a graffiti on a large boulder depicting a majestic bovid ( Bos primigenius ), found in 1961 and dated by experts al Upper Paleolithic .
The cave is open to the public and can be an opportunity for the citizens of the valley and their guests to get to know and appreciate the millenary history of those places.

The Church of the Holy Trinity, built in the 16th century, is located in the hamlet of Avena, in the municipality of Papasidero in the province of Cosenza.
Here, in about 835, San Leoluca chose to build a Basilian monastery and inside we find a aedicule, in a semicircle, overlooking the main altar.
Inside it there is a fresco dated 1519 by Renato Grisolia, depicting God the Father holding up the crucified Son with the archangel Gabriel and the archangel Michael on either side.
Dwelling on the fresco, we note how urgent a safety and restoration intervention is.
